- 2? C flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2? C oats
- ? tsp salt
- 1 C sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1? C melted butter or margarine
Mix ingredients well in a large bowl. Press one half of this mixture into bottom of well-greased 9×13 inch pan.
FILLING: 1 (10 oz.) jar apricot preserves or you may substitute other flavors of preserves or jam. Variety is delicious. Spread preserves over oats mixture leaving ? inch or ? inch edge all the way around. Sprinkle on top the remainder of the mixture. Optional: Mix l cup coconut into last part of mixture for different flavor and texture. Bake at 350? for 25 minutes or until edges are slightly browned. Yields about 3 dozen.
